Border 2 Border Quilting
Studio was established to provide quality longarm machine quilting
services. Located in South Middleboro, MA the studio was designed
to be a clean, fiber-friendly and smoke-free environment and home
to the Gammill Optimum® Statler Stitcher.®
Owner Patty Sawyer has been quilting for over 20 years and began
quilting totally by hand. Subsequent to sending her quilt tops out
to be quilted for many years, Patty decided to purchase a long arm
machine. Following more than a year of research, Patty purchased
the state of the art Gammill machine. This new longarm machine is
completely computerized with thousands of patterns from which to choose and is stitch regulated.
Patty boasts she is confident she has chosen the best in the industry.
Now an empty-nester, Patty’s dream of quilting full time and
owning a studio has become a reality.
Patty attends a variety of quilting classes to keep abreast of
the new techniques in quilting and travels regularly to shows across
New England. She has also taught a variety of beginner and intermediate
quilting classes over the years with friends and ladies of her church.
She is a member of the Silver City Quilt Guild, Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild and Plymouth County Cranberry Quilters. She also attends
various workshops from other area guilds. The highlight of her quilting
career has been taking classes with well known quilters from across
the country while attending the International Quilt Festival in
Chicago. In 2007, Patty started showing her quilts and has won numerous area awards. In 2008, Patty was accepted as a candidate in a certified judging program. Patty also often quilts lakeside at her retreat home in
Maine. She has an addiction to fabric and owns more than 100 quilting
books in her library.
